Acanthopholis, 'Prickly Scales', was a small Early Cretaceous Anklyosaur. Acanthopholis lived about 115-91
million years ago. It was a small armored dinosaur with a slim body covered with small plates. Its tail was clubless and its shoulders and neck were armed with spikes. Acanthopholis was a herbivore, and walked on four legs. Acanthopholis could grow to be as long as 14 or 15 feet long. Acanthopholis was named by the British biologist Thomas H. Huxley in 1865.
